The English Speaking Union Tucson Branch is celebrating 31 years of supporting Shakespeare in our schools! The annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition is held on the campus of the University of Arizona in partnership with the School of Theatre, Film & Television. Each winner from participating high schools competes at the University of Arizona and the local winner is sent to the National competition held at Lincoln Center, New York.

The ESU Shakespeare competition is open to all high school students in Southern Arizona bringing the opportunity for hundreds of young people of all races, genders, and social classes to experience the dramatic intensity, and peerless language of William Shakespeare.
