Music inspired by Shakespeare: Prokofiev, Gounod, Rossini, Verdi

Conductor Thomas Cockrell and the Arizona Symphony Orchestra are joined by Fred Fox School of Music voice faculty in a celebration of musical works inspired by Shakespeare. The program will include Korngold's scintillating incidental music to Much Ado About Nothing, excerpts from Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet and scenes from Rossini's Otello, Gounod's Romeo et Juliette, and Verdi's Macbeth, Falstaff and Otello. Featured will be mezzo-soprano Kristin Dauphinais, tenor Hugo Vera and baritone Andrew Stuckey. If you can't get to campus, watch the performance streamed live.
