Love's Labour's Lost is a comedy of witty banter written during the early part of Shakespeare's literary career. The King of Navarre and his three companions attempt to give up the company of women for three years to study and fast. But when the Princess of Aquitaine and her ladies show up, the men find ways to work around their oath. The women, however, do not allow themselves to be taken so easily and remain sophisticated, smart and classy. The clever script is filled with puns, rhymes and allusions. The play draws on themes of masculine love and desire, reckoning and rationalization, and reality versus fantasy. Directed by Mickey Nugent.
